Connecting Points
Pursuing Growth Together
God has designed us in such a way that we do life best when we do it in community.
One of the primary ways we build relationships and cultivate fellowship with each other here is through a network of small groups—what we call Connecting Points. While we are joined to all believers in the local church, Connecting Points allow us to relate more deeply with a small number of people. An integral part of our church’s ministry since its founding, Connecting Points provide an important context for accomplishing a number of biblical priorities.
Connecting Points are small groups of individuals or couples that meet in someone’s home for Bible study, fellowship, prayer and ministry. The purpose of Connecting Points is to create an environment where people experience biblical fellowship and spiritual growth.
We believe Connecting Points promote community and are the place where significant life change occurs. This is where real life is experienced and real issues are discussed. People in Connecting Point groups celebrate the successes and good times of life with each other as well as comfort one another during the hard or disappointing seasons that we all inevitably encounter.
- Pursuit of Biblical Fellowship: Connecting Points provide a place where we can build meaningful relationships, care for one another, and help each other grow in our relationship with God.
- Pursuit of Spiritual Growth: All Christians have a desire to grow in Christ-likeness. We simply cannot grow on our own the way we can when we journey with others involved in our lives. Merely hearing God’s word is insufficient; we must apply it to our lives for there to be fruit. Connecting Points enable us to do this together. We seek to apply the Bible’s teaching, review Sunday messages, discuss Christian books, and use a variety of other resources with the intention of growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities
Each member is important to the group and should seek to contribute to the group’s health and success. We each have the responsibility in our group to:
- Faithfully attend meetings and functions. We’re much more likely to benefit if we are actually present!
- Willingly participate. Come ready to contribute, to serve, to share, and to open yourself to others. When the group has an assignment, diligently complete it. Both you and others will benefit from your participation.
- Build relationships with other members outside the meeting. Don’t confine your investment to the Connecting Point group meeting—let this be the springboard to rich, enduring relationships.
